Dr. William Edgar Geil (1865 -1925) was an evangelist, explorer and, photographer. He lectured all over the world, illustrating his talks with lantern slides. Geil is believed to be the first American to have travelled the entire length of the Ming section of the Great Wall of China. Considered an expert in Chinese culture and religion and wrote about 10 books on his travels. The present work is an account of his travels in Central Africa.
