Paper covered decorated boards, Very striking design to upper cover. An interesting and scarce edition published one year after the London edition. Only 3000 printed.
Spine splitting at head, spine tail bruised but a good tight copy.
Scarce edition published in Moscow. First published 1936 Lawrence and Wishart. Controversial Irish journalist, and proponent of Communism, Claud Cockburn, " a man with great flair", coined the term 'Cliveden Set'. He was accused by Orwell of being under control of Communist Party and in the early thirties founded and wrote a mimeographed political muckraking journal called 'The Week' which, in the period immediately preceding the war, become extraordinarily influential.
