Nam is an unclassified extinct language preserved in Tibetan transcriptions in a number of Dunhuang manuscript fragments. F. W. Thomas, English Indologist and Tibetologist, was librarian at the India Office and taught Comparative Philology at University College London. He compiled a catalogue of MS brought to London by Aurel Stein.
