In very good condition. Original light blue textured card covers, xxivpp.. Covers a little age-marked. Variant copy. Limitation notice (justification du tirage) states 50 copies printed on Japon (Japan) paper numbered one to 50, and 200 Offset printed. This edition appears to be offset but with serial number 9 in ink.

Mary Low's first published poetry. Her 'Red Spanish Notebook': (1937), also jointly written with her husband the Cuban Surrealist poet Juan Breá, was highly praised by George Orwell. Like Orwell, Low and Breá were members of the quasi-Trotskyist POUM.
Two José Corti, (rue de Médici, Paris) subscription slips loosely enclosed. Presentation copy signed by both authors to Fredric Warburg, George Orwell's publisher.
