First published in 1915. By the editor of Dent's Modern Language Series Walter Ripman (Rippmann), a dynamic and energetic figure who wrote and edited much on language teaching, speech and spelling. This book was a new edition of the First French Book and written according to his 'reform method'. He was a major proponent of the use of phonetics in schools; although phonetics only appear in the vocabulary here.
