Small 8vo., 13x17cm.. Original brown cloth, spine and upper board lettered gilt, edges ruled in blind. viii+309+(iv)pp.. Harper’s lists in back including advertising for the author’s eye witness account of the Paris Commune. Brentano’s label to lower paste-down.
A good copy with very light wear or signs of use. Tight and clean.
Vocabulary and phrases arranged conventionally in four columns qiving equivalents over a double page. As well as being a travel writer, Pembroke Fetridge ran a bookseller’s and publisher’s in Boston, Mass.. He later moved to Paris where he witnessed the Paris Commune.
