Description

A very nice bright copy in original blue/grey cloth lettered in gilt to spine and red to upper board, unclipped dust-wrapper. Clean and tight. Stylised dust-wrapper typography in black and red. Artist unknown. First printing (about 1/2 centimetre larger than usual blue cloth second printing). D.w. just starting to brown. Used; Very Good Known for his 'rattlingly good yarns', Krymov (1878-1978) was widely read and translated in the 1920s and thirties. First published in 1933 in Berlin. Translated from the Russian by Malcolm Burr. As well as translating from the Russian, and possibly also Turkish, Malcolm Burr wrote on his travels round Russia and his participation in the Salonika Campaign.
