First thus. Quarto, blue Soviet cloth, stylised decoration in black and gold to upper board, spine gilt, stylised end-papers, sketch portrait frontis., 604pp.. Headpieces, no other decoration or illustrations. Cyrillic script used. Ex Central Asian Research Centre library with neat stamp.

The Shahnameh or Shah-nama "The Book of Kings" is a long epic poem written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi between c. 977 and 1010 CE and is the national epic of Iran and the Persian-speaking world.
